Modern knee arthroscopy surgery in Monterrey, México
Minimally invasive, quick recovery.
Arthroscopy has replaced in many cases the traditional open knee surgery from the past for being faster and less invasive. This makes it particularly safe, it also works as a tool that allows both to see the damage and repair it in the same surgery, all with a short time of recovery.

Arthroscopy allows us to treat knee injuries without having to make long cuts in the skin. Instead, we go deep inside your knee with a camera and instruments of a few millimeters diameter which makes tissue damage minimal. For all this and the excellent results we see, knee arthroscopy has almost completely replaced other forms of knee surgery.
Learn what's going on on your knee
Information about the illness or injury on your knee is
somewhat essential to be able to treat any patient. In our
office, we have had many patients with pain on the knee
whose injury could not be seen by means of an MRI and which
cause was not revealed until we did an arthroscopy. One of
the benefits of arthroscopy is that we get visual and
tactile access to know exactly what is happening with your
knee. The amount of information we obtain from your injury
through arthroscopy is much greater than we can obtain with
an MRI.
With arthroscopy, we can evaluate much more directly the
state of your meniscus, cartilage, and ligaments in your
knee. In fact, arthroscopy is truly efficient because we can
see in a lot of detail what is happening within your knee
and in the same surgery we can do something about it, to fix
it.
Fixing meniscus tears
Meniscus injuries are the most common in athletes. We have extensive experience performing arthroscopies to repair damaged menisci which cause pain to our patients. It's important to mention that not all cases of torn menisci are solved by means of arthroscopy. Some cases require another type of procedural. However when it is feasible, -and in many cases it is- arthroscopy is an excellent solution to repair torn menisci.
Treating ligament injuries
Arthroscopy has in recent years replaced open surgery to treat most cases of injuries and/or tears in ligaments. Many injuries in cruciate ligament athletes, anterior, posterior as well as how the medial collateral ligament are successfully treated by knee arthroscopy. One of the most common knee injuries is the so-called ACL or tear of the Anterior cruciate ligament. In Dr. Lopez's office Valerio we have successfully operated hundreds of patients with that and other ligament injuries using the knee arthroscopy. We have many testimonials, Reach out to us and learn more.
